Jake is like the team’s big brother. He’s a strong leader and a level head in a crisis. He’s the captain of the school basketball team, so he’s used to coming up with strategies and calling the shots. When he and his friends wake up in Cajmoor and have to find their way home, Jake’s friends look to him to lead the way… even though he doesn’t have a clue what to do next.

Avi is a bookworm and a perfectionist, making her pretty much a permanent teacher’s pet. Her idea of a perfect day is curling up with a stack of books, a never-ending mug of hot chocolate, and a cozy blanket. When Cajmoor throws its trickiest puzzles at the Worm Squad, everyone trusts Avi to unravel them… even if she has trouble trusting herself to take the lead.

Carrie is the type of person who can walk into a room — whether it’s school, Girl Scouts, gymnastics, or another of her many activities — and be friends with everyone five seconds later. She’s her friends’ biggest cheerleader and is great at finding the bright side of things… which is good, because getting home from Cajmoor seems impossible.
